Australia Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay White
93+ Robert Parker. One of the best white australian produced these last years... The Leeuwin estate was founded in 1974 and was among the first fiveestates to have planted vineyards in the Margaret River region. Withthe help of Robert Mondavi, mentor and consultant to the Horganfamily, this estate has succeeded in making itself into one of Australia's premier wineries. The region's terroirs and microclimate are perfectly adapted to international varietals like cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay. The estate's Art Series wines are the top cuvées from each vintage. These wines are derived from highly selective harvesting of fruit and vinified using traditional European techniques with the aim to producing the highest-possible quality wines. These cuvées require a few years bottle aging to show their potential, like the greatest European wines. A pale gold color accompanied by glints shading toward green, very unusual for an Australian wine. We're more used to seeing richer and deeper hues.
