The BRIO Lifting Bridge Tub Set is a wonderfully indulgent way to bring BRIO into your house. The tub is packed to bursting with track, trains and fun railway accessories. BRIO is known for quality rather than competitive pricing, but this set represents great value. There are 25 pieces of beechwood track all proudly embossed with the BRIO name. In fact total track length is an impressive 365 cm--so make sure the playroom is ready. Helpfully enclosed is a basic layout plan to give every single item in this set a role, but this is likely to be of interest only to grown ups. Your aspiring young train engineer armed with his childish imagination is much more likely to be interested in constructing his own unique layout. The rolling stock is impressive too. There are 11 different trains, buses and lorries including the marvellous red Push and Pull Switching Engine complete with its retracting coupling mechanism. Naturally all of the trains run smoothly along the BRIO tracks and can be coupled to each other thanks to the powerful coupling magnets. Other gadgets to amuse little fingers include a tipper truck and wagons with struts to secure their removable loads. The highlight of the set must surely be the high-level Lifting Bridge--a feat of engineering even Brunel himself would have been proud of. this could be a crash disaster zone, but thoughtful BRIO have added two opening and shutting barrier arms to control traffic flow during an elevation. Other thrilling additions include the super-strong, super-solid wooden tunnel. This particular tunnel is taller than most so is ideal for those high loads. Just to add a little spice to the whole design there are loads of ways to help make an elevated track. As well as a high green track support, there are five sturdy bridge supports, which not only stack on top of each other (now we're really getting dizzy), but are also fitted with special rubber anti slip pads. These bridge supports are a great way to show off the red girder bridge also included. Naturally the enclosed wooden bus and lorry need to be able to join in the fun, so just for them there's a wooden railway crossing with two lifting barriers. And finally to make sure that your little enthusiast really gets to grips with the magnets attached to the removable cargo, there a fully functioning crane. The whole set arrives in a very sturdy red tub--perfect for storage. Recommended for children aged 3-7 years old, the BRIO Lifting Bridge Tub Set is a truly wonderful indulgence. Brio Action Fire Station BRIO
Call 999! There's a fire and the BRIO Action Fire Station and its resident Fire Fighter must be called into action to save the day. Children from 3 years old will simply adore this toy. Combining the best of traditional wood and modern, high-quality plastic, BRIO has triumphed again. The Fire Station is a deep, striking red, with a working bell, doors that open and close, a chute that operates via a "trapdoor" for our brave Fire Fighter to slide down in style and track that fits to other toys in the BRIO railway system. And not forgetting the piece de resistance: a push-along battery-operated Fire Engine (batteries included) that has a flashing light and siren consistent with the importance of its mission. The Engine has a magnetic coupling facility, to hook it up with other trucks and engines in the BRIO collection, and the simple push-button mechanism needs to be repeated after each siren, which lasts only around eight seconds, saving frayed parents' nerves. It cannot, however, be switched off. Batteries are housed beneath a screwed-down cover and a screwdriver will be required when they need replacing. A poseable Fire Fighter, who sits comfortably inside the engine sporting a dashing red cap, is also included. Perfect for role play and make-believe imaginative play, this toy is highly rewarding for the minimum of effort, and will stand alone as easily as it will fit into an existing BRIO collection. Fantastic value for money, it will last a lifetime if looked after properly and is easily cleaned. Brio Bob the Builder - Muck BRIO
Help get the job done with Muck, the big daddy of the latest Bob the Builder toys from the top-quality BRIO Builder range. This 39-piece set includes wooden and plastic components which, when fitted together, make a very impressive "Muck" digger, complete with caterpillar tracks and huge, toothy grin. Chunky Swedish beechwood and high-quality, moulded plastic may seem an unlikely combination, but the design and execution of this kit are such that they seem perfectly natural side by side. Muck has everything you would expect in his trademark bright red: bucket at the front and skip on his back, caterpillar tracks, complete with chunky bolts, stairs up to his cab and, of course, his cheerful, smiley face. Muck is the most complex vehicle in this range, and requires bolts to be screwed in and tightened, as well pieces to be fitted together. Suitable for children of three to six years, the younger end of this target age group will obviously be unable to follow the pictorial instructions included and will need parental guidance. The pieces snap easily and firmly together, however, giving huge reward without a level of challenge the little ones will find a deterrent. The older end, however, will gain extra reward from following the instructions (which contain one minor error, but nothing that cannot be resolved) and fitting the pieces together themselves, with the help only of the plastic pliers provided. They may also like to create their own vehicles with other kits from the range. For all ages, the toy develops motor skills, problem-solving abilities, basic construction skills and, once built, creative and imaginative role-play. It is unusual to find a truly innovative toy.
