The Fire Station is a deep, striking red, with a working bell, doors that open and close, a chute that operates via a "trapdoor" for our brave Fire Fighter to slide down in style and track that fits to other toys in the BRIO railway system. And not forgetting the piece de resistance: a push-along battery-operated Fire Engine (batteries included) that has a flashing light and siren consistent with the importance of its mission. The Engine has a magnetic coupling facility, to hook it up with other trucks and engines in the BRIO collection, and the simple push-button mechanism needs to be repeated after each siren, which lasts only around eight seconds, saving frayed parents' nerves. It cannot, however, be switched off. Batteries are housed beneath a screwed-down cover and a screwdriver will be required when they need replacing. A poseable Fire Fighter, who sits comfortably inside the engine sporting a dashing red cap, is also included.
