Eurotalk Limited Advanced French - Au Coeur de la Loi DVD Home and Lifestyle Applications
If you've got the basics of a language under your belt and want to try something a bit more advanced, then this series from language-learning specialists EuroTalk might be right up your street. Like the other titles in this series, Advanced French uses a popular television programme to really help get you in tune with native speakers. In this case the programme is Au Coeur De La Loi, a cops and robbers show. The idea is that you can take in an episode either by reading the script as it rolls by or by simply sitting back and watching. It is fast moving and you'll have to work hard to keep up. Once the show is over, you can take the part of one of the characters, recording your own voice to see how well you fit in. It's a good way to test your accent and the speed at which you can speak French. If you get stuck, there is a dictionary for researching words, and you can look up the occurrence of particular words in the TV show and replay the sequences containing them. To inject some fun into proceedings you can pit yourself against a video opponent in a quiz about the show, and there are other exercises and games on board. Advanced French is great fun to use and works very well indeed. Take note that this is a DVD, so you will need a DVD drive to use it. It also requires the Windows Media Player.
