Lamp is a lighting device consisting of a transparent container within which a gas is energized by an applied voltage and thereby made to glow. These lamps when fixed in chandeliers or lighting fixtures illuminate the place. Lamp is used in the projector due to which one can transfer photographic and other images in an enlarged form onto a viewing screen. All types of projectors employ a light source i.e. lamp and a lens system.
